The flat

Wren Court was a furniture works until 1989 and has been flats since. Number four is on the top floor at the canal end, which gives it windows on three sides and no one overhead. The main room is nine metres long and keeps the original steel and timber roof structure, painted rather than stripped.

Two bedrooms sit off the main room, the second currently arranged as a study. One bathroom, refitted in 2022, and a kitchen along the north wall that was built in place by a joiner rather than bought in.

Tenure and costs

Share of freehold, held through a company owned equally by the eight flats. Service charge ran to £1,840 last year, which included redecoration of the common parts. There is no ground rent. The building has no lift, and the flat is four floors up.
